3 Favorite Things

  1. Knowing I’ve made someone feel special
Both in everyday life and in fulfilling the mission of our company, it is THE BEST feeling knowing I’ve made someone feel special by dropping off an unexpected front porch treat or blowing up someone’s yard with a birthday sign. Recently someone described our yard signs as “an explosion of happiness...and everyone who sees it can feel the happiness!”
  2. Knowing I’ve made a difference
Watching a piano student light up because of their pride in accomplishing something hard. I’m teaching kids resilience, self-confidence, and a way to cope with life through music. My time of influence in their lives may be short, but they will always have these and the ability to create at least a little of the beauty they need to see in the world.

Through Sign Gypsies, I try, whenever possible, to get involved with charities that are making a difference in our community. Seeing the difference I can make empowers and energizes me to keep working even through hard days.
  3. Music
Music can lift your spirit, calm or energize you, move you to dance, and bring you back to a specific memory. It has the power to heal and connect.

3 Least favorite things:
  1. Rocks—they make my job especially hard.
  2. Feeling misunderstood
  3. Rules

Connection
Whether it’s with my husband, my parents, family, closest friends, or with the wonderful ladies of LBB, I love connecting. Not small talk, but truly feeling understood, loved, and appreciated.

Catchphrase
“Believe the best.”
There have been some times in my life when I wish I could go back and get a “do-over”...things I wish I would have said differently or chose to make a different decision. I don’t live in regret, it just means that I’ve grown, I’ve learned and I know better now.

I have extended grace to myself and try to be gentle with myself. I offer that same grace and gentleness to others and choose to believe that everyone is doing their best. Always.

“Be kind. For everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle.”
